The Empire State Building in New York City was meant to be the first 100+ story building. It is now the 4th tallest building in NYC at 1250 feet – 1454 feet depending on how it is measured, the 6th tallest in the entire United States, and the 43rd tallest in the world. They have also been named the number one attraction in the United States by the 2022 Tripadvisors Travelers Choice Awards. 

Where Is The Empire State Building Located?

This 102-story art deco skyscraper is located in Midtown Manhattan in New York City at 20 W. 34th Street, New York, NY 10001. It is at the center of the city right in west 34th street and 5th avenue. 

If you are already in the city you can walk to The Empire State Building from various locations, you can take multiple subway lines like the B, D, F, M, N,Q,R, W, and 6 trains to reach the iconic building. You can also drive in from various locations like New Jersey. 

What To Do At The Empire State Building?

Once at the building there are many activities and exhibits that you can take part in. The main event is the 2 observation decks of the building. They offer a 360 panoramic view of the city and 6 other states as well depending on weather and clarity. You can access The Empire State Building all year round rain or shine and even on the holidays. 

As you are making your way to the observation decks there is plenty to take part in along the way with multiple exhibits that are on display on the 2nd and 80th floors of the building. Some of these exhibits include the opening day of the building, Modern Marvels which explains what it took to create this massive building, and the Kong exhibit where you can touch King Kong’s hands as they vibrate, as well as so many other exhibits. 

Once you are done taking in all the breathtaking views and the history through the exhibits you can grab a bit to eat at one of the many eateries located within the building and then stop into the store to grab a piece of NY to take with you.
