Spring Clean-Up

Our experts will clean out leaves and sticks from gardens and flower beds, light pruning of winter damage from shrubs, spade edge all gardens, dethatch or clean up lawn areas, blow off hardscape surfaces, and mow turf if necessary—debris removed to a DEP-approved recycler. Our team will ensure your yard is ready for beautiful days spent outside in the sun with your friends and family. Spring clean-up can be a one-time service based on scheduling availability. Spring clean-up is a required part of a full-service maintenance package.

Weekly Maintenance

Ongoing weekly maintenance is based on up to 29 service visits per year beginning mid-April through the end of October (weather permitting), including mowing, weed whacking, power edging, and blowing off all hardscape surfaces. You will be assigned the same day every week (weather permitting) and the same crew so they take responsibility for your property. This is part of a full-service maintenance program (full-service contract).

Lawn Care

Lawn care is one of our most sought-after services. We offer premium and basic packages that are tailored to the customer’s needs. The premium program includes organic based fertilizer as its backbone, it is all about improving soil quality. Premium lawn care includes core aeration and overseeding. Our basic package includes synthetic fertilizer applications, pre-emergent weed control applications, grub control, and broadleaf weed control applications. Traditional weed and insect applications are also included. Our experienced team will assess and recommend how we can best care for your turf. This may consist of watering recommendations and much more to meet your expectations. Lawn care is required for full-service customers and is available as a stand-alone service.

Irrigation

Our qualified irrigation tech can install high-quality irrigation systems so you can be sure that your plants are getting the proper amount of water they need to stay healthy and vibrant. Spring start-ups and adjustments can ensure your system works properly before the hot summer months. Our team can also provide service calls for maintenance and repairs, so you don’t have to worry about your system breaking down. Finally, our team can provide fall winterizations, which can help protect your irrigation system from cold weather damage, for full-service and stand-alone customers. CJL can check and service your low voltage lighting at these visits as well. This will save you a service call charge. Adding a smart controller is not only good for the environment it saves you money on your water bill and avoids town restrictions.

Low Voltage Lighting

Lighting can be a great way to enhance your outdoor living space and make it feel more inviting. It also adds a level of security to your home. CJL can help you maximize outdoor lighting with our lighting demonstration kits. Our kits are designed to help you visualize how different lighting options will look in your outdoor space. Additionally, our team can provide spring and fall inspections of your lighting fixtures to replace bulbs and sockets and make any necessary repairs. These inspections can help ensure that your lighting fixtures are working correctly and that any damaged fixtures can be replaced promptly and cost-effectively. Need a service call? We can work on all major brands. Tie in lighting check-ups with your irrigation spring turn-on and fall turn-off and save on a service call fee. We can update your older system to LED bulbs in most cases.

Garden Maintenance

Our garden maintenance/fine garden care services are perfect for serious gardeners who want to ensure all the tiny details of their gardens are taken care of. This service can include weeding, pruning, deadheading perennials, planting, and mulching flower beds. Our bed maintenance services are ideal if you want to create a unique surprise for your guests when hosting an event and are great for welcoming in the new seasons. Each program is customized for each client’s preference and the level of care their beds and plants require. This is an excellent add-on for full-service customers or can be combined with spring and fall clean-ups for part-time clients. The most experienced CJL professionals provide garden care services.

Seasonal Color

This is the perfect way to add extra life, texture, and vibrancy to your garden. Adding seasonal color is a great way to make your outdoor living space look and feel inviting. For early spring, you can add bright blooms such as tulips, daffodils, and pansies. For the summer season, you can add a splash of color with annuals such as marigolds, petunias, and sun patience. And for the fall season, you can fill your gardens with colorful mums, cabbage, and kale. We can do custom plantings for your pots and planters. Ask us about adding drip irrigation for these as well. Adding seasonal color to your garden is a great way to add a unique and inviting look to your outdoor living space. CJL offers both standard and custom color programs exclusively for our full-service clients.

Fall Clean-Ups

Our experts can help you prepare your landscape and outdoor living space for the colder months. Our experienced landscapers will blow off hardscape surfaces, blow and rake leaves, clean up lawns, gardens, and woodline buffers, and perform a final turf mowing if needed. These services can help keep your lawn and garden looking neat and tidy. Additionally, fall clean-up can help reduce the risk of turf diseases. CJL can vacuum and remove leaves to a DEP-approved recycler for towns without a curbside pick program. Fall clean-ups are a required service as part of a full-service maintenance program. Fall clean-ups are offered as a stand-alone service based on schedule availability.

Estate Landscape Management

You know how you are; you have a special home and property. It’s your castle, and we’re the company that can keep it looking as grand as it is. Whether it is an acre on the top of a mountain or 10 acres of rolling golf course quality turf, we have over 40 years of experience and a multi-talented team of professionals to hand prune the shrubs, care for the turf, provide custom flower programs, and we will consistently perform high-quality services from March to December. You will be assigned your own account manager who will work with you throughout the year to meet your landscaping goals.

Landscape Construction And Design

Landscape construction and design is a great way to add value and visual appeal to a property. Professional landscape design can include planning out hardscape areas and flower beds, privacy planting, outdoor kitchens and pools, tying in outdoor lighting, and installing irrigation systems and drainage. Professional landscape design can consist of a consultation with our landscape account representative to ensure the design is tailored to the individual property. Our team can also advise on what plants and materials to use, how to maintain the landscape, and how to use the space to maximize its potential. During peak season, spring and fall full-service customers have priority. Additional fees apply for designs, engineering, permits, and project management. Depending on the project’s scope, this process can take 3 to 6 months.

Additional Services

Individual services such as pruning, landscape design, masonry or hardscape installation and repair, irrigation service, spring or fall clean-up, planting, and mulching are perfect for meeting your yard’s specific needs. With our additional services, you can be sure your outdoor living space will look its best and be tailored to your needs. Add these individual services to your existing landscaping package or ask for them individually when needed. Full-service CJL customers have priority.

Hand Pruning of Ornamental Shrubs and Trees

We have the most sought-after crews who are the very best in the business. As always, full-time customers will take precedence as these craftsmen are booked out for six weeks plus from May to November (part-time customers only – based on extremely limited availability). These men have over 10+ years of experience. They have been through the Rutgers Plant and Pruning courses. Plant health care starts here. Edward Scissorhands would not make this team. We can also do dormant pruning in late winter; corrective pruning will be performed in May and June with advanced notice.

Specialty Programs

Natural flea, tick, and mosquito spray, including cedar, garlic, and citronella oil, will help protect your family and pets. There are 5 – 6 annual applications based on weather conditions and insect levels.

Anti-desiccant spray will help protect your shrubs from cold winter winds and temperature fluctuations. Recommended for new plantings, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Skip Laurels, Holly’s, Boxwood’s, and more. There are 2 applications, the first in December and the second based on weather in February or early March.
