The J.A. McFaul Environmental Center is located at 150 Crescent Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. 07481. It is located in Bergen County and is part of the Bergen County Park Systems and is an education and wildlife oasis in a very suburban community. It features many indoor and outdoor experiences. It is a beautiful wildlife sanctuary with many trails, gardens and educational exhibits.   

Things to Experience at J. A. McFaul Environmental Center

One of our biggest attractions are the many nature programs that we offer at the Center. They are available weekdays only and need to be scheduled. We have programs about bees, the current issues pertaining to endangered wildlife in Jersey, Maple Sugaring, Buggy Business, Apple Cidering, basic survival skills, and many more. We sit on 81 acres and feature nature trails, seasonal swamp, Hardwood Forest, picnic areas, pavilion area, a waterfowl pond, bird shelters, butterfly and hummingbird garden, Grass Garden, Museum and Observatory, Rhododendron Garden, wildlife sanctuary, and an animal exhibit.  

Things to do Around J. A. McFAul Environmental Center

Once you have experienced the wonderful 81 acres of Nature and Wildlife at the Center some other sites to enjoy in the area is the Abma’s Farm. They have a lovely Market Greenhouse with wonderful crops to choose from and an amazing Petting Zoo. Next, visit the Goffle Road Poultry Farm for fresh eggs, live poultry, and rabbit. 

The Zabriskie House is another great historic attraction near the Center. It has been a local landmark for over 275 years and thought to be the oldest structure in Wyckoff. It has 550 acres and so much history. It was built in 1730 by descendants of Dutch settlers. The Bergen County Zoo is a very popular attraction that would be a fun family experience while visiting Bergen County.

If you are needing a day of relaxation with nature and animals, head on over to J. A. McFaul Environmental Center. It is a short 20 minute drive from Paramus, New Jersey or 25 minute drive from Hackensack, New Jersey. So, once you have completed your errands and or business in the city, head over to Wyckoff for some time with nature. You could also be at the Center in just under an hour from New York.
