Where is The Hermitage Located?

The Hermitage is located at 4580 Rachels Lane, Nashville, TN. The Hermitage is a historical plantation and museum located in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States, 10 miles east of downtown Nashville. The plantation was owned by Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States, from 1804 until his death at the Hermitage in 1845. Jackson only lived at the property occasionally until he retired from public life in 1837.

Things To Do at The Hermitage

Jaqua Hall is available to rent for private parties, fundraisers and other catered events. It is a 1,650 square foot meeting room and banquet room with a warming kitchen attached. 

Depending on the season, we have many different events you can attend. Before Thanksgiving you can take a class on how to make fall centerpieces. Christmas season brings a tree lighting ceremony, candlelight tours, A Christmas Carol, and Dickens at the Hermitage.     

There are several different exhibits you can see as well as tours of The Hermitage. Some of the exhibits you can see are: celebration of nature, Beautiful Brides in gorgeous gowns, Roaring Twenties Christmas, A Real American Girl and many more. We also have The Gardens at the Hermitage tour that you can take to see our beautiful different plants and herbs. We also provide school and scout programs on and off site.

Attractions Near The Hermitage

Once you have visited and experienced all the things The Hermitage has to offer, there are many wonderful sites to visit close by. The Grand Ole Opry is only 4 miles away and is a one of a kind entertainment experience. Next, check out the Ryman Auditorium. When you enter the doors of this historic building you experience how country music got its start. Another great experience is the Country Music Hall of Fame. This building houses over 2.5 million artifacts from our American Music History. At night it is enjoyable to visit the local bars and restaurants in downtown Nashville to get a taste of country music nightlife.

How to Get To The Hermitage From Other Locations.

The Hermitage is 20 minutes from all the local attractions in downtown Nashville and is just 5 miles from Gaylord Opryland Resort and the Nashville International Airport. So plan to spend some time at the Hermitage and then visit all of the History and local flavor that Downtown Nashville has to offer, you might even run into one of our famous Country Music Stars!
